How We Do It
Your dog is a unique individual, so we tailor our grooming process to suit their needs and any special requirements they may have.
Our full grooming service normally includes all of the following:
- We first conduct a basic health check and assess the condition of your dog's skin and coat to check for parasite and flea infestation.
- Your dog is then carefully bathed in a safe, comfortable bath designed to be suitable for all sizes and breeds.
- We select shampoos and shampoo treatments based on our assessment of your pet's hair and skin, and can also use your chosen shampoo/conditioner if you prefer.
- After drying, we groom and style your dog using a combination of scissoring, clipping and hand stripping, always paying close attention to your requirements.
- We groom in accordance with UK breed standards and we can also tailor styles to suit your preferences or the lifestyle of your pet.
Our grooming process also includes trimming of nails and dewclaw, paw tidy, ear plucking, and ear cleaning.
Grooming Products We Use
The benefits of natural products are becoming well known.
When booking your appointment, you can choose from a wide range of dog-friendly plant-based, organic pet shampoos, and treatments which have been carefully formulated to make sure your dog looks and smells gorgeous.
You can also choose from a selection of specially formulated treatment shampoos which contain natural plant oils to promote healthy skin, repel fleas and even help your dog to relax.
All of our specialist shampoos are included in your full groom service price.
If Your Dog Has Special Grooming Requirements
We welcome dogs with special requirements, including older dogs, puppies, nervous dogs, and pets suffering from illnesses such as diabetes and arthritis.
If your dog is old or suffers from pain or inflammation we take more time and move them carefully and slowly.
If your dog is nervous or has a reactive personality, we provide extra care and affection to build up trust.
If your dog's coat is matted, we speak with you first before de-matting or shaving off.
Whatever your pets requirements, we adapt our grooming process to ensure they feel safe, happy and loved.
Puppy Grooming Introduction Sessions
If you are lucky enough to have a new puppy addition to your family, you may like to bring them along for some introductory puppy sessions.
Puppies can be a little nervous in new places and around new people so it's best to make sure they have a happy experience so they can look forward to future grooming appointments.
During the introductory sessions, your puppy will be introduced to our team and have time to get used to being in our salon.
During one of the sessions, we will also give them a bath, dry, brush, light trim and a tidy so they are familiar with the feel and sound of trimmers and scissors.
Two or three sessions is usually all it takes before your puppy begins to look forward to visiting us.
